Why We Built Midrung
The gap nobody was filling
Every manufacturing ERP on the market falls into one of two buckets. Bucket one: enterprise systems that cost six figures, take six months to implement, and require a consultant to change a dropdown. Bucket two: spreadsheets, whiteboards, and QuickBooks held together with tribal knowledge.
For shops with 5-50 people, neither option works. Enterprise ERPs are built for manufacturers with IT departments and implementation budgets. Spreadsheets work until they don't — and the day they fail, it's a missed delivery or a margin surprise that costs real money.
We've been on the shop floor
The team behind Midrung has done every job in a manufacturing shop. Push-button operator. Setup machinist. Lead hand. Supervisor. Production manager. Quality manager. We've run departments at shops ranging from 8 people to 200.
We've used JobBOSS. We've used Epicor. We've used E2 Shop, Global Shop, and a handful of others. We've built the elaborate spreadsheet systems that fill the gaps those tools leave. We know what's missing because we've lived without it.
What we're building
Midrung is a manufacturing ERP that does what job shops actually need: quote jobs accurately, track production, manage quality, schedule resources, and invoice — all in one system that you can set up yourself without a consultant.
We're not trying to replace Epicor for a 500-person multi-site manufacturer. We're building the tool that the 20-person shop down the road actually needs and can actually afford. Per-company pricing, unlimited users, and no implementation cost.
Our philosophy
We win when your shop succeeds. If you outgrow us someday and need a full enterprise ERP, we'll help you export your data and move on. We're not trying to be the last software you ever buy. We're trying to be the first one that actually works.
Every feature we build comes from a real problem we experienced on a real shop floor. Not from a focus group. Not from a competitor analysis. From doing the work.
